The award recognises leaders who make a real impact by guiding diverse teams and managing complex projects across different markets.
Here, Weems shares her thoughts on the award, her leadership journey, and what this recognition means for ATFX and the wider business community.
Q: Congratulations on receiving the “Hong Kong’s Woman Leaders” award. What does this recognition mean to you personally and professionally?
Weems Chan: It is such a privilege to be recognised alongside so many amazing women leaders. To me, this award isn’t just about my own work. It really feels like a celebration of everything our team at ATFX has achieved together. It is a great reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work collaboratively and embrace diverse perspectives.
Q: What leadership values do you find most important in your work, and what message would you share with women leaders who are just starting out?
Weems Chan: For me, leadership is about creating an environment where people feel valued, heard, and empowered to do their best work. I am fortunate to work with a team that truly values collaboration, flexibility, and inclusivity. These values help us stay creative and agile in a fast-changing industry and deliver great results for our clients worldwide. To women leaders starting out, I would say trust your vision, stay persistent, make accurate decision and build a strong network of people who support and challenge you. Leadership is not just about a title; it is about inspiring others, facing challenges head on, making a positive impact, and always being yourself while staying true to your values and supporting diversity.
Q: How would you describe the culture at ATFX and its role in supporting leadership across different teams globally?
Weems Chan: Our culture at ATFX is all about working together and appreciating different viewpoints. With teams spread around the world, it’s important to respect and learn from each other’s backgrounds and experiences. We try to keep communication open, so everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas and feedback. That kind of environment helps our leaders grow, builds trust across teams, and allows us to tackle challenges together more effectively. It’s this supportive culture that makes it easier for us to adapt and succeed in a fast-changing industry. I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the management team, because it is thanks to their ongoing commitment and vision that we have such a strong and supportive culture.
