墨西哥总统克劳迪娅·辛鲍姆给特朗普发了一封措辞强硬的信，回应他的关税威胁，她警告墨西哥将以自己的关税进行报复，但表示她愿意与美国合作。
特朗普表示，关税将继续实施，直到墨西哥采取措施阻止非法越境和芬太尼等毒品进入美国。
“如果美国拨给战争的资金中哪怕只有一小部分用于建设和平和促进发展，就能解决人口流动的根本原因，”Sheinbaum补充说。
