It was a volatile week in financial markets last week and the event calendar for the week ahead points to a potential blockbuster ahead with three major central banks making rate decisions, a plethora of tier one data out of the US and major tech players announcing their quarterly earnings data.
Highlights of the week will undoubtedly come around the central bank rate calls with the Fed, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England all set to update the market and although there is no move expected from the FOMC, the other two are ‘live’ events and traders are anticipating moves around the rate call as well as the consequent market updates.
It is scheduled to be a relatively tame start to the week, but things will really heat up in terms of market updates as we move through the sessions which will culminate in the major US Non-Farms numbers on Friday.
