US Stock markets experienced a mixed day ahead of the twin key events of CPI and the first presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The Nasdaq and S&P gained ground whilst the Dow fell off, whilst yields and the dollar trod water near recent levels.
Demand concerns continued to weigh on Oil with Brent now sitting at a three and a half year low, losing 3.7% on the day.
It is a big day ahead for financial markets, with key events covering all three trading sessions. Asian markets will have their focus on the US last longer than usual this morning with the presidential debate taking place early in the day, whilst we have another key data print out of the UK in the European session before the key US CPI data release early in the New York day.
